It's evening her so time to use the little cork screw device.

Well I'm newer to this forum than most of you, but just discovered this thread-   aaaaah.  No problem with my imagination, and all these nurturing pictures work for me.  Warm, safe, cozy, positive and nurturing.  All those things we know how to feel despite a lack of throughout earlier life (speaking for myself).  They say that if you can still imagine the healthy scenario, you're still okay, so here we are.  Some ginger/lemon tea or my favorite, Jasmine Fancy green tea with lemon, in a china pot, china cups and saucers (they have pansies on them, my only good relative, a grandmother used to grow them).  Sweet, cute, soft little flowers.  It's cold and foggy here this morning (California) so that fire and your warm hearts make it good.  This image will help me through my day.  I will be back later.

Hi Julia-
That's Okay, I have enough for several of us!  Right now I just got home and can see us with cushy chairs, ottomans to put our feet up, cozy blankets, a warm fire, and someone nice and safe to wait on us (a Mom, perhaps) and make us dinner.  I'm not much of a drinker, but a glass of red wine, perhaps.  And maybe some bread pudding with cream for dessert?  Either way, lots of hugs all around, acceptance, laughter (pretty miraculous we still have some) or tears, depending, and big, sincere hugs.
A better evening than my actual one, I can tell you.
I hate winter with it's early darkness and cloudy, endless days of overcast oppression- to each their own, but the sun is what warms me and gives me hope.
Oh, and there is the smell of roses coming in from outside in our cottage.  My dear sweet kitty is getting petted all around (with other numerous kittys) and perhaps a sweet doggie nearby.  Hmmmmm.

I am standing at the window, just enchanted with the birds and the snow.  What a lovely cottage.  Anybody up for watching a Jeeves and Wooster episode?  Smiley  I'll make some popcorn with m&ms in it.  And root beer floats.

Jeeves and Wooster is a British comedy tv series, set in the 1920s.  Bertie Wooster is the silly rich young man with nothing to do but play cricket with bread rolls in his club, and Jeeves is his brilliant Manservant who keeps him out of trouble.  The language just has me in hysterics.

Thanks for asking, it's going really well overall, though I'm pretty convinced almost all restaurant owners are a little neurotic. Coworkers are great, clientele is great (most people are in a good mood when they go out for sushi), the restaurant itself is cozy and nice to be in. The owner...can be hard to work with. He's on the perfectionist side (for others, not himself; told me to have all the ingredients of everything on the five-page menu memorized plus the 30+ types of sake we serve) and is also pretty disorganized/blaming. My having a longstanding anxiety about authority figures doesn't help. I'm working on remembering that the fear I feel when being observed by someone in an authority position is an old, outdated fear and that I'm as worthy to be present at the workplace as anyone else.

By the way, I found a website about severely low self esteem that is really resonating and helpful. Don't know if it will be with any of you, but here's the link: http://www.head-cleaners.com/selfesteem.html#say

Num, Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.....

I have a problem with authority figures in the workplace as well.  I've found that either bosses love me or seem to hate me.  I try really hard to fly under the radar.  The bosses that have loved me have been wonderful to me so I do give people chances, from a distance... it's not very long before I realize what category they will fit into.
I'm glad things are going well for you.  It sounds like you're in control......

hugs,
