My husband and I adopted our son at age 6.5 but not until we got our foster sons (aged 2 and 3) a year ago did we hear about attachment disorder and realize there was a name for what we were experiencing with our son. When I asked family services for AD info they told me I could get more if I just did a web search. I did my first search 2 months ago and am devouring information and using the new information to adjust the ways we are parenting so we can meet our boys' need better. I am desperate for someone to talk to that can actually understand what we are going through.
