I am the homeschooling mama of two children- a 9year old son and a 2 year old daughter. My husband and I became foster parents for our son when he was 5 with the intention of adopting him. It took 2+ years for the adoption to go through. Our daughter's bio-mom chose us through an adoption agency and we were present at her birth! The past 4 years have been a roller coaster emotionally and we are just beginning to get a handle on this new concept - RAD. Our dear son, whom we love, seems unable to trust us and come under our authority and displays every symptom except urine and fecal "artwork" and physical violence. Our daughter is attached, praise God! We are trying to find appropriate help and support. The Nancy Thomas tapes, book, etc. has been revolutionary for us! We were actually doing a lot right, and now feel empowered to continue and have gotten lots of new ideas! This website has been life-saving for me (plus anti-depressants and loads of prayer!) and I am grateful for each person who shares their lives and encouragement. Love in Christ! SusanB
